Sparkhouse
Sparkhouse is an award-winning incubation and managed office facility, owned and operated by the University of Lincoln. It has a great track record and has helped launch over 230 new creative and technology-based businesses. These in turn have helped to create over 370 new jobs. In a second phase of development, Enterprise@Lincoln was added to the facilities to give more established tenants larger managed office spaces to operate from.

The University of Lincoln briefed POP to bring the two facilities together under an identity that can be used to spearhead a 10-year anniversary awareness campaign.
Fuel your future
POP consulted with stakeholders groups including tenants, past-tenants, mentors and the board of directors. From these conversations we built a clear picture of the facility’s key propositions.

We also consulted with the architects of both buildings to understand their original inspiration and design concepts. The centre has been developed on the site of a railway station master’s office. This permeates the design and the original office can still be seen in parts.
“Working with Pop was thoroughly enjoyable. They provided creativity and met challenging deadlines to deliver the project on time.” – Centre Manager
The new identity created by POP meshed the centre’s proposition with the history of its location. Central to the scheme is the new strapline ‘Fuel Your Future’. Launching and developing a business is a journey, this is in the fabric of the building and the new identity continues the theme.

Visually the new identity echoes the geometry of the Sparkhouse’s distinctive exterior. The angles and shapes compliment the striking photography of the building and create a continuous line through the pages of the marketing material.
